Criminal case files consist of papers filed in criminal proceedings. A file may include indictments, warrants, recognizances, subpoenas, motions, the complaint, answers and petitions. Transcripts of testimony and court exhibits are also sometimes included. These criminal cases include charges involving counterfeiting, mail fraud, obscenity, election fraud, interstate commerce violations, espionage, motor vehicle theft, draft evasion, violations of the Federal Juvenile Delinquency Act, the Prohibition Act, moonshining, selling liquor and tobacco without paying the correct Government tax, possession and sale of marijuana, LSD and other illicit drugs, immigration and naturalization laws, Alien Registration laws, and other Federal crimes.
